This gathering is an invitation to spend time outdoors with community. Across two days, we will climb and camp.
This gathering is inspired by Ollin: the Aztec-Mexica concept of movement, transformation, and renewal. Ollin reminds us that life is always in motion, shaped through effort, pressure, struggle, and return.
Climbing brings this idea into the body. Each climb asks us to read the rock, move with intention, adapt under pressure, and return after each attempt. The stone stays still, but we change through the process of moving with it.

To connect with the outdoors, ourselves, and others through a weekend of rock climbing, camping, and time in nature.
-
We will be top-rope climbing on Saturday 11 July 2026, camping overnight in Brooyar State Forest, and climbing again on Sunday 12 July 2026.
There will be beginner-friendly through to more advanced climbing routes available, depending on weather, access, group ability, site conditions, and the discretion of the nominated climbing lead on the day.
New climbers are welcome. Participation is subject to a safety briefing, equipment check, and available supervision. Beginners may only climb and belay under direct supervision from an approved competent climber.
Members of the SANTO-FI climbing team will be present to support the gathering and help create a safe, grounded, and welcoming environment.
We will be climbing with Edmund Gemelo and Salem Parsons, who will be present to offer general support, guidance, and shared experience as fellow climbers. Please note this is a free social climbing and camping meet-up, not a commercial guided tour or formal climbing course.
Salem Parsons Bio
I’ve been rock climbing for 3 years, and it has become more than a sport. It is how I connect with the world and myself. The outdoors has taught me patience, presence, and how to breathe through fear. I care deeply about mental health and love the quiet strength that comes from pushing through doubt, one move at a time.Edmund Gemelo Bio
Edmund has been climbing for 14 years. He was one of the first Filipinos to qualify and compete in the 2005 World Youth Championships for both Lead Climbing and Speed Climbing. Edmund has experience across several styles of climbing, including trad climbing in Victoria and sport climbing in New South Wales and Queensland. He has also helped develop crags and bouldering routes in Queensland. All climbing will take place in approved climbing areas only and will be dependent on weather, access, group numbers, and site conditions. We will not climb in unsafe weather or wet conditions.
